Classical Ballet Dance Classes (RAD)
Graham School of Dance offers Ballet lessons to children of all ages, including Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Grade and Vocational Grade Ballet classes from age 4 and Nursey Ballet for children age 3+. Our maindance studios are located in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire and ideally located for students from Essex as well as Herts. We also offer classes in ALL our branches - Welwyn Garden City, Hertford, Church Langley, Stansted, Takeley (Little Canfield) and Sawbridgeworth. Ballet helps to develop the foundations of excellent dance technique, improving flexibility, strength and posture as well as being fun and helping develop a sense of achievement and inspiring students musically.
We provide ballet classes for all levels and ages:
Classes for children Under 5:
Baby Ballet classes have become very popular as an ideal introduction into dance for young children. Graham School of Dance offers Melody Bear © classes for 2-3 year olds in Bishop's Stortford, and Hertford in Herts, and Church Langley and Stansted in Essex.
Children aged 3-4: From age 3, pupils progress to learning Nursery Ballet, often with Introductory Tap alongside. These are fun introductory ballet classes (based on the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus), usually with Introductory Tap as part of the lessons. Classed are available at all branches.
Children ages 4 - 5: pupils are introduced to the Royal Academy of Dance Classical Ballet Grade syllabus through learning the RAD Pre-Primary syllabus.Pupils are invited to prepare and enter for their Pre-Primary Class Award when they are ready. Classed are available at all branches.
Classes for older pupils: 
Children age 5 & above: pupils learn the Royal Academy of Dance Classical Ballet syllabus Grade classes starting at Primary, and moving through to Grade 8 inclusive. Most pupils are invited to prepare and enter for RAD Examinations or Class Awards when they are ready.
Pupils age 10 and above: In addition to their RAD Grade classes, students age 10+ may be invited to commence Vocational Grade classes offered by the Royal Academy of Dance.
These include Intermediate Foundation to Advanced 2 inclusive, and pupils are prepared for examinations where appropriate.
Adult Ballet classes are also increasingly popular, and these run on Tuesdays in Bishop's Stortford - please contact us for details!
