Modern Theatre Dance Classes (ISTD)

Graham School of Dance offer Modern Theatre dance classes to children of all ages from Hertfordshire and Essex. Modern Dance is a fusion of dance styles, originating and developed from Ballet, and helps to develop rhythmical movement, turns, jumps and dance combinations in a fun way, building strength, technique and core stability too. 

Pupils age 5 and above: Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing Grade classes, Primary to Grade 6 inclusive, with Examination and Class Award options.  All our Modern Dance pupils learn Ballet each week too, as the foundation for their Modern work. Younger pupils enjoy Introductory Modern Dance from age 4+ at some venues if they wish.

Pupils age 12 and above:  In addition to their Grade Modern Dance lessons, by invitation pupils may also be invited to start learning the ISTD Vocational Grade syllabus.  Intermediate Foundation to Advanced 2 inclusive, with pupils being prepared for examinations where appropriate.  

With our main dance studios located in Bishop’s Stortford on the Hertfordshire and Essex borders, and branches at other locations too, we are ideally located for students from Bishop's Stortford, Stansted, Saffron Walden, Sawbridgeworth, Braintree, Buntingford, Ware, Hertford. Welwyn Garden City, Welwyn.... and everywhere in between!
